What's in a name?

Celebrities nowadays give their children unique/strange names. Non-celebrities follow suit. Take the case of 'Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii'. What kind of name is that? Her parents must be totally bonkers! The worst name ever, in my opinion, is 'Number 16 Bus Shelter'. How would you call him/her? Number? Number 16? Goodness! And get this. The civil registrar allowed it!

So. What name did you give your child? And what is the worst name ever that you have encountered?

My cousin's name is Dolly, so we have been teasing her about coming to town. I had a student named Prince, and all of the guys in his family had the same name. My kids all seem pretty happy with their names. I think that my name (Betty) really dates me since it has been out of style for so long. Oh, well.

i'm quite conservative when it comes to my kids' names. the worst so far will be my son's son's name which will be Nebuchadnezzar...hope he changes his mind. kidding aside i find Marimar funny, like after the mexican telenovela, it's like ewwwww. alam mo naman minsan ang mga pinoy ^_^

My childrens name are Janne Natalie, Janne Nicole and Neil Andrew. Both Janne from January...hehehe. At school their teachers call them on their second name if not they will get confused. My son is Neil from his Dad's name Nilo. But at home we call them: Natalie/Palang, Nicole/Yuki/Day2x and Neil/Dong2x.

My second daughter always tell me that if we are outside the house I need to call her Nicole because it's disgusting daw :)
